Still deciding on which dress is best for you?
Most women come into my boutique with a pre-set notion of what they want and are reluctant to try on different types of dresses. Always keep in mind that a dress you saw in a magazine usually looks much different on. Be ready to try on dresses with different necklines, waistlines and overall shapes. You will be amazed at how a dress can look on you, even if doesn't look that great on a hanger! Yes, it's true that different styles look better on some body types.....however you should be ready to try on many different types of dresses so you can pick out the one that looks best on YOU! Keep in mind too that if you find a dress that is close to what you wanted, you can always have alterations done. For example. if you found a dress you love but it has straps that you don't care for, it is easy to have them removed or replaced with ones you like. You can also easily have more beading or color added.....want a lace up back instead of a zipper? Have it taken out and pick out your own ribbon to lace up with! There are so many minor changes you can do to make the dress your own. If you are worried about the price of alterations....DON"T BOTHER! My seamstress Vicki is not only one of the most talented women I know, her prices for my customers can't be beat!!

Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue, and a sixpence in your shoe......
Did you know.......
"Something Old" ....most brides wear something belonging to their grandmother or mother. A great way to incorporate "Something Old" is to have a handkerchief made out of a dress or other fabric, (or wear a piece of jewelry) that belonged to your family member or loved one......
"Something New"...wearing something new helps bring good fortune and success to the Bride's new life...most women use their dress as "Something new".....
"Something Borrowed"....wearing (or having) something borrowed from a MARRIED friend or relative helps bring a Bride happiness into HER new marriage....
"Something Blue".... this is an old biblical tradition and stands for purity and fidelity ...many years ago the entire dress was blue, now most women carry a blue ribbon or have blue in their garter.....
"Sixpence in your shoe".... placing a silver sixpence in your left shoe was said to bring you wealth into your new marriage....
(What, you ask, is a sixpence? A sixpence was a coin used many years ago in Britain and was worth 6 pennies.....)
